After collecting more than 1400kg of food last year, local accommodation operator Quest Joondalup is aiming to push its annual Foodbank WA drive past the two-tonne mark.
The six-day collection drive kicks off this Monday, September 7, with locals encouraged to drop non-perishable food items at the hotel’s lobby at 83 Boas Avenue.
Last year’s effort provided the equivalent of 2535 meals from the 1407kg of food donated for people facing food insecurity.
As living costs continue to strain WA households, organisers are calling on families to rally together and support those doing it tough.

Quest Joondalup owner Michael Chidlow is also encouraging local schools and businesses to get involved and help reach the two-tonne target.
“Last year our community showed just how generous it can be, and we can’t wait to see what we achieve together in 2026,” Mr Chidlow said.
“Every tin, packet and jar makes a real difference to a West Australian family doing it tough, so whether you drop a donation on your way past reception or bring the kids down for our family fun morning, we’d love to see you get behind it.”
Every food donation made to Quest’s drive will also put donors into a draw for a family staycation at the complex.
The week-long appeal will finish with a free family fun morning on Saturday, September 12, running from 10am to noon and featuring face-painting, balloon twisting, kids’ games, a photobooth and free popcorn, as well as barista coffee and fresh juice for anyone who brings a donation.

All donations will go to Foodbank WA, WA’s largest food relief and hunger-relief organisation.
Foodbank WA helped put 9.3 million meals on tables across the State last year, distributing more than 5.2 million kilograms of food.
Its school breakfast program alone provides breakfast to more than 27,000 students each week across 552 schools in WA.
According to Foodbank Australia’s 2025 Hunger Report, one in three Australian households, or 3.5 million households, experienced food insecurity in the 12 months covered by the report.
