Detectives have arrested two men, including a CFMEU delegate, as part of a probe into alleged drug trafficking on construction sites in Melbourne.
Taskforce Hawk officers have also seized “significant quantities” of steroids amid investigations, police have said.
Police carried out search warrants at addresses in Mulgrave, Heathmont and Fitzroy from 5.45am on Thursday.
A 35-year-old Mulgrave man, who is a CFMEU delegate, was arrested along with a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman from Fitzroy.
The CFMEU official and the other man were charged after the trio were interviewed.
The 35-year-old faces charges of traffic anabolic steroid, possess prescription drug, possess drug of dependence, possess prohibited weapon and possess controlled weapon.
The 32-year-old was charged with counts of traffic anabolic steroid, possess prescription drug, possess drug of dependence, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and possess prohibited weapon.
The pair were bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 19 next year.
The arrested woman was released with an intent to summons.
A raft of other items, including a large quantity of steroids and peptides, have also been seized from the addresses.
A quantity of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, electronic devices, a taser, two extendable batons, OC spray, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash were also seized by police.
“Police will allege the trio were involved in importing a range of illicit drugs and steroids through the mail and trafficking them at construction sites across Melbourne,” a Victoria Police statement said.
Taskforce Hawk, which was initially established as Operation Hawk in 2024, was set up to investigate criminal behaviour linked to the construction industry.
