Molly Ticehurst asked her killer why he wanted to “kill me” and “do all the bad stuff to me” weeks before he brutally murdered her, text messages have revealed.
Billings pleaded guilty to murdering his former partner, Ms Ticehurst, inside her Forbes home in the NSW Central West on April 21, 2024.
The 28-year-old mother had made sexual assault and domestic violence allegations against him to police just two weeks earlier, including accusations that Billings told her he would come “cut your head off” and “I will get to you quicker then (police) will”.
Billings denied the allegations but admitted he had killed their dachshund puppy the year prior after they broke up, court documents state.
Ms Ticehurst had asked him in March 2024 “Why did you want to kill me? Why do you do all the bad stuff to me?” in text messages.
“Maybe my thought process was if I couldn’t have you then I didn’t want anyone to,” Billings replied.
Ms Ticehurst feared for her safety when Billings was released on bail on April 5, and two weeks later he stabbed her to death.
Her family came face-to-face with Billings during a sentence hearing in Orange Court on Thursday, with her father, Tony Ticehurst, speaking directly to the killer.
“I hope that every night Molly’s screams keep you awake and the hairs on your arm stands up in terror,” he said.
“Molly’s life was not complete. She had such a big heart and had so much love to give.”
Billings’ sentence hearing will continue on Friday. He is expected to be sentenced later this month.
