An Aussie road trip may feel like a pipe dream for many at the moment, but for hundreds of lucky adventurers, exploring the country’s famous red centre may be closer than they think.
From today, eligible Aussies hoping to travel to and through Central Australia, including Alice Springs, can receive a $500 voucher to help ease the cost of travel, which can be used toward accommodation at some of the region’s best caravan parks and camping spots.
There are 600 vouchers up for grabs from today, 5 September, and are available to eligible interest travellers until 30 September 2026.
The Red Centre Drive Vouchers initiative, launching today, is designed to help more Australians get on the road, travel to and through Central Australia and spend longer exploring the area, TCA revealed.
But you’ll have to be quick, as they’re allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Aussies can apply for the vouchers from today.

(Tourism Central Australia (TCA))Regional communities hit hard as many forced to rethink travel
The campaign comes as regional tourism businesses continue to face economic pressures, with many Australians forced to rethink how they spend on holidays amid cost-of-living pressures.
It’s hoped the incentive will encourage more Australians to hit the road and explore the country’s remote landscapes and natural attractions.

The vouchers, offered by Tourism Central Australia (TCA), can be used towards accommodation across the region and could cover up to 10 nights at a powered caravan site, several nights in a cabin, or even accommodation for an entire eight-night Red Centre road trip.
Tourism Central Australia CEO Danial Rochford said the vouchers could really help encourage more people to venture beyond the cities and explore what Australia has to offer.

Some remote Aessie towns have been struggling economically, so a boost in visitors will go a long way.

“These vouchers are about giving Australians that extra push to get on the road, take their time and experience the Red Centre properly,” Rochford said.
“The journey is every bit as important as the destination. We want visitors stopping at our roadhouses, staying in our caravan parks, campgrounds and wayside inns, spending in regional communities and discovering places they may otherwise have driven straight past.
“This isn’t about rushing to one icon and heading home. It’s about slowing down, staying longer and experiencing the extraordinary communities, landscapes and experiences that make a Red Centre road trip unlike anywhere else in Australia.”
