Police are investigating multiple serious crashes across Perth as they hunt a driver who managed to flee officers during an overnight pursuit before ditching a crashed car in Rockingham.
The latest incident police responded to during a busy 12 hours was when a Mazda BT-50 utility failed to stop for officer on Rae Road in Rockingham about 12.25am Saturday.
A spokeswoman said the driver managed to lose police before the pursuit was called off on Cambridge Crescent in Cooloongup.
Roughly 10 minutes later, the same car was found with the help of the police helicopter on Casilda Place.
The driver fled the area after the vehicle crashed into a brick letterbox and an electrical cabinet. Officers from regional operations were trying to locate the driver on Saturday.

It comes as police investigate separate serious crashes from Friday, including when a car smashed into a home and two motorcycle riders were injured.
Just before 1.30pm, a black Triumph motorcycle collided with a blue Dodge RAM utility at the intersection of Mary Street and McLarty Road in Halls Head.
Police said the 37-year-old male rider was seriously injured and rushed to Royal Perth Hospital by ambulance. The 72-year-old man driving the RAM was uninjured.
In Glen Forrest about 30 minutes later, the rider of a white BMW motorcycle rider crashed after losing control of his bike on Great Eastern Highway.
Police said a Volkswagen Caddy, also travelling eastbound, moved into the path of the motorcycle and caused the 75-year-old rider to crash.

Road policing investigators are also looking into a crash where a Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class station sedan smashed through the front of a Dianella home about 6.40pm on Friday.
The driver was uninjured and the home was extensively damaged. Nobody was home at the time.
