Radiohead have officially confirmed their long-awaited return to Australia, announcing a 16-show tour across the country in 2027.
Radiohead last toured Australia 15 years ago in 2012 as part of The King of Limbs tour.
The band will kick off the tour on May 3 with a four-show run at Perth’s RAC Arena, before heading to Melbourne for six shows at Rod Laver Arena and then Sydney, where they will perform six shows at Afterpay Arena.
Fans will need to register their details before the tickets go on sale to reduce competition from bots and ticket scalpers, and are limited to four tickets per registration.
The news comes after months of speculation, following guitarist Ed O’Brien’s comments during a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year.
O’Brien told the publication that the Oxfordshire-formed outfit wasn’t planning on doing “anything this year, but we’ll do something next year”.
He added: “We’d love to come to Australia. It’s just a question of when.”
O’Brien had previously opened up about the “profound” feeling of being onstage with his fellow bandmates, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood and Philip Selway, following the band’s 20-show European tour, which wrapped in December 2025.
“That tour was very, very emotional, very profound. We all felt that,” he said of the tour, reported Variety.
“We’d look at one another on that stage, like, ‘This is amazing.’ I feel like I’m the luckiest person on the planet, and I’m not just saying that.”
O’Brien added that the number of shows per tour was a very conscious decision for the band, saying they want to make sure they give “absolutely everything” at each show.
“We want to give absolutely everything each night,” he continued.
“We do not ever want it to be like we’re going through the motions or we’re having to run on empty. We’ve got to be able to do it. And you know what? We’re not spring chickens anymore.”
Ticket registrations open at 5.00pm on Monday September 7 and close at 5 pm on Thursday September 10.
