A family and neighbourhood are in mourning over the death of a well-known father who was run over by a reversing rubbish truck.
An Yu, 70, was critically injured near his home during a regular morning exercise walk about 8.50am on Monday.

7NEWS was told the dad-of-two managed to share a few precious final words with his wife of 35 years before he died.
“She saw her husband on the floor. She found him lying there and bleeding,” friend Li-Li Chein said.
Both his children are overseas and have been given the devastating news.
Major Crash investigators have spent the day at the crash site on Balaka Way in suburban Queens Park, Perth.
“I just woke up to my dad saying a lot of stuff was happening, and there was a crash,” Yuksel Terzi said.
Another local said the man’s death was “heartbreaking”.
“It is someone that you see almost every morning, walking around, trying to look after himself,” Neslihan Terzi said.

An Yu was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition but could not be saved.
He is understood to have lived in the suburb for at least a decade.
The 59-year-old male driver of the white City of Canning garbage truck was not hurt.
Neighbours say rubbish trucks often reverse down the street because there are no easy places to turn around.
Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact Crime Stoppers.
The incident comes days after another Perth pedestrian was seriously injured when they were struck by an object that fell from a passing car in Kelmscott.
