Series of cold fronts to drop temperatures across Queensland and New South Wales as Victorians wake to rain

A series of cold fronts is expected to drop temperatures across Queensland and New South Wales as rainfall returns to the nation on Monday. 

Queensland is cooling back down on Monday as the cold front moves off the east, causing a drop in temperatures.

Temperatures will remain warm further north, with Mackay forecast to reach 28C and Townsville 29C.

Queensland’s interior will also remain warm, with 36C forecast in Mt Isla and a top of 37C in Longreach.

Sunny and dry conditions are expected across Queensland.

Cool temperatures are forecast across New South Wales, along with the chance of a few coastal showers moving in from the south. 

Showers will move into the Central Coast on Monday evening.

There is potential for rainfall from Canberra all the way to Newcastle. 

It will remain dry and sunny further west, with Bourke forecast for a sunny and dry 24C.

There is a chance of coastal rainfall in Victoria, which will then move into the Alps, before moving out by the evening. 

Dry but cloudy conditions are expected in northern Victoria. 

Tasmania is forecast to see ongoing rainfall on Monday morning, which is expected to clear by the evening. 

South Australia is looking at a primarily dry but cloudy Monday.

Gusty winds are expected in Western Australia’s north, with additional heavy rainfall forecast across the centre, throughout the south and across the Goldfields.

High rainfall totals and ongoing storms are also expected in those areas. 

Western Australia’s coastline, however, will remain dry, with high temperatures expected further north. 

The Northern Territory is in for a primarily dry and sunny Monday, aside from a chance of showers around Uluru. 

Short-lived showers are expected in the Top End from Darwin to Katherine. 

National forecast for MondaySydney

Rainfall is returning to Sydney on Monday due to the series of cold fronts beginning in the south.

A low of 13 degrees is expected with a top of 22. 

Melbourne

Melbourne locals may be waking up to a rainy Monday due to a series of cold fronts moving across the region.

A cool low of 11 degrees is expected with a top of 15 degrees.

Brisbane

There will be a drop in temperatures in Brisbane on Monday, falling by at least 10 degrees. 

Temperatures are expected to hover between a low of 15 degrees and a high of 26 degrees. 

Canberra

Canberra is looking dry on Monday.

Temperatures will range between a low of 3 degrees and a high of 18 degrees. 

Adelaide

Adelaideans are looking at a dry week ahead.

A low of 9 degrees is expected, with a high of 18 degrees. 

Hobart

Rainfall is forecast in Hobart on Monday.

Temperatures will hover between a low of 9 degrees and a high of 15 degrees.

Perth

Perth is in for a dry and pleasant start to the week with partly sunny skies. 

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 8 degrees and reach a high of 23 degrees.  

Darwin

There is a chance of isolated showers in Darwin on Monday.

Temperatures will range between a low of 23 degrees and a high of 32 degrees.
