Qantas has launched a massive sale on seats to seven of its North American destinations from today.

The Flying Kangaroo’s week-long sale will include destinations such as Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, Honolulu, and its world-first nonstop Sydney-to-Las Vegas flight.

That route will take to the skies for the first time on December 29 and will save five hours in the air.

Aussies will be able to snap up return tickets to Sin City from $1,249 if they’re travelling on select dates between January 19 and February 16.

If Australians were to fly to Las Vegas in the first week of October, it would mean a 2.5-hour layover and cost $1,570 with Qantas.

However, it could set you back anywhere between $1,572 to $2,756 with other airlines, with layovers lasting anywhere up to 90 minutes to 21 hours.

“Las Vegas has been one of the most talked-about additions to our network in years, and this sale gives customers the chance to lock in a seat on the only nonstop flight between Australia and the entertainment capital of the world,” said Cam Wallace, Qantas International’s CEO.

“This sale also includes discounted fares across every North American destination we fly to… so whether it’s a week in Waikiki, skiing in Whistler, New York over Thanksgiving, or a few days on the Strip, there’s something here for every kind of traveller.”

For other destinations in the sale, economy fares start from $939 from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to Honolulu.

If you were to book a flight for the first week of October outside the sale, Qantas would charge $2,336 for a round trip, while a flight with United Airlines would cost $2,290.

It’s not just economy fares that will have their prices cut, with Premium Economy return flights setting Aussies back $2,549 to Honolulu, while Business Class seats to the island destination will cost $6,099.

Many of the included travel periods coincide with key dates on the North American calendar, such as the Super Bowl LXI, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, and the ski season.
