Perth’s best parmi has officially been crowned — with a beloved venue south of the city taking out the top gong.
After the people of WA voted in PerthNow Pulse’s search, The Suburban Bar and Grill in Bertram beat stiff competition to be declared the home of Perth’s best chicken parmigiana.
The venue serves nine different types of parmis, with the cheapest costing $33 and its more extravagant chicken dishes setting diners back $36.
The Suburban Bar and Grill head chef Ross Beinke said the win felt “fantastic”, crediting the homemade touch for helping the venue stand out among locals.
“It’s just the fact that they’re so big, they’re so juicy,” he said.
“It’s just the homemade parmi. We bash them all out ourselves.
“Look at the size of them on the plate. Who could not be happy?
“Everyone’s always happy with them and the price is good for what you get.”
A whopping 31 per cent of voters said The Suburban Bar and Grill served their favourite parmi, closely followed by Rose & Crown Hotel in Guildford with 26 per cent.
Haynes Bar & Grill in Armadale had 19 per cent, The Mean Bean Diner in Bullsbrook had 17 per cent, while North Perth’s Rosemount Hotel received 8 per cent.
The Suburban Bar and Grill has become a favourite among Bertram locals — but now that it has been crowned Perth’s best parmi, diners from across the city could soon be making the trek south to see what all the fuss is about.
