{"id":11611,"date":"2026-05-15T01:10:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T01:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/11611\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T01:10:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T01:10:09","slug":"perth-panel-builder-to-spark-1300-home-adelaide-renewal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/11611\/","title":{"rendered":"Perth Panel Builder to Spark 1300-Home Adelaide Renewal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Residential construction at a 1300-home urban renewal project in Adelaide will be spurred by a Perth firm using structural panels that promise to improve sustainability and cut delivery times.<\/p>\n<p>Perth-based Form Homes is about to start six homes, the first in Stage 2 of South Australian land development agency Renewal SA\u2019s plan to regenerate part of the suburb of Seaton in Adelaide\u2019s western suburbs.<\/p>\n<p>To build the six homes, the company will use insulated structural panels manufactured by its WA-headquartered subsidiary firm SIPform.<\/p>\n<p>Form Homes and SIPform co-founder Jonathan Goldsworthy said he hoped South Australia would embrace the construction method.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve travelled the world looking at homes using similar construction methods and working out ways to improve productivity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Mid_article_resizes-7.jpg\" alt=\"A rendering of a pair of homes to be built at Seaton.\"\/>\u25b2 A rendering of a pair of SIPform homes to be built at Seaton.<\/p>\n<p>Each panel comprises two durable outer layers bonded to a core of high-density insulating foam that minimises air leakage and bolsters energy performance.<\/p>\n<p>The panels will be custom manufactured to design specifications\u2014including door and window openings\u2014and delivered to the Seaton site for assembly on a traditional slab.<\/p>\n<p>Goldsworthy said the panels\u2019 use would streamline and fast-track construction and reduce waste.<\/p>\n<p>To date, about 300 SIPform homes have been built across Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>Renewal SA executive director of residential project delivery and assets Peter Gatsios said using the panels in a metropolitan setting followed their successful trial in regional SA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSix homes were constructed at Ceduna using the same materials, which proved to be an effective and efficient alternative to traditional construction methods,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1778807408_529_Mid_article_resizes-7.jpg\" alt=\"A rendering of a SIPform home to be built in Seaton SA.\"\/>\u25b2 A rendering of another two SIPform homes due to rise at Seaton.<\/p>\n<p>Gatsios said the panels\u2019 use did not compromise design and individuality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuyers can still customise their home, add feature walls, clad with other surfaces, and work with the full range of material selections,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 2 at Seaton is bound by Frederick Road and Parker, Matthews and Lark avenues.
