RIDLEY, MERRETT TO EXPLORE TRADES AGAIN<\/p>\n
Essendon defender Jordan Ridley is again expected to pursue rival interest at season\u2019s end, while Gold Coast has registered interest in Zach Merrett.<\/p>\n
Ridley considered a trade to the Lions last year due to frustrations with this bleak injury run before deciding to stay put.<\/p>\n
The contracted backman, currently sidelined with a calf problem, has played 21 games since the start of 2024 due to ongoing setbacks including a spate of soft tissue injuries. <\/p>\n
And Ralph said Ridley \u201cwill have a good look around again\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, had the aborted trade with Brisbane. Brisbane is very keen again on him,\u201d Ralph said. <\/p>\n
\u201cOnly two games before breaking down with a fresh calf injury.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Suns have inquired about Merrett some seven months on from his failed move to Hawthorn. <\/p>\n
And though Merrett isn\u2019t believed to be keen on a move north, there\u2019s an expectation that the ex-Bombers skipper, contracted until 2027, will again explore a trade. <\/p>\n
