A Brisbane doctor has been hit with more than 100 sexual assault-related charges, allegedly committed against multiple women over more than a decade, following a historical police investigation.<\/p>\n
Detectives from Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch allege the now-74-year-old Highgate Hill man sexually assaulted 15 women between the early 2000s and 2015 while working at a private health centre in Tarragindi. <\/p>\n
The women were aged from their late teens to their 40s at the time of the alleged incidents.<\/p>\n
Police established Operation Xray Cariyna as part of the investigation, which culminated in the man being charged at Upper Mount Gravatt Police Station on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The man faces 148 charges, including 94 counts of rape and 54 counts of sexual assault. He is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 23.<\/p>\n
Upper Mount Gravatt CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Denis Silk praised the courage of victim-survivors who came forward.<\/p>\n
