Mirvac has secured approval for a $1.9 billion warehouse precinct, while Aldi is building a $1 billion automated distribution centre in the Aerotropolis. Australia Post recently opened a new facility in Blacktown, and industrial property giants like Goodman and ESR are expanding their logistics superhubs just minutes from the M7.

The upgrade also reinforces the M7’s role as one of the state’s most important freight corridors. “This is a significant productivity boost for the entire region, from freight operators who make up 14% of traffic on the M7, to local commuters,” Ms. Stoddart added.

With the airport’s cargo operations commencing in July and passenger flights in October, the newly widened M7 will be a high-capacity gateway, ensuring the Aerotropolis is ready for takeoff from day one.

“The M7 widening is the launch pad for Western Sydney’s future,” Ms. Stoddart said.

“By creating a faster, safer, and more reliable connection to the new airport and Aerotropolis, we are ensuring Western Sydney has world-class infrastructure to support its growth for decades to come, connecting communities to jobs and businesses to global markets.”

“And importantly, as Australians face increasing fuel prices, taking a quicker journey will put dollars back into the hip pockets of drivers,” she adds.

As Western Sydney steps onto the world stage, the M7 stands as a cornerstone of its success, ready to handle the demands of a thriving economic hub and a growing population.

The Facts

•4 million+ Hours: Annual travel time expected to be saved by drivers.

•Up to 13 Minutes: Potential time saved on a peak-hour trip between Marsden Park and Liverpool.

•30,000 Vehicles: The number of additional vehicles the widened motorway will be able to accommodate each day.

•26 kilometres: The length of the M7 being widened to three lanes in each direction.

•1 million People: The population growth in Western Sydney since the M7 opened.

•14% Freight: The proportion of traffic on the M7 that is heavy vehicles, making it critical to Sydney’s supply chain.

Western Sydney is in the middle of a once-in-a-generation transformation, and at its heart lies the Westlink M7,…

[5
2621,23,133,2618,2626,2610,2614,2611,2627,2617,2608,2625,2620,2475,2622,2491,2612,355,2607,2605,120,2619,2616,2606,2615,247,2472,2623,2624,2613,2609
post-1498","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-sydney","tag-artwork-installations","tag-australia","tag-australia-and-new-zealand","tag-blacktown","tag-cargo-operations","tag-commercial-investment","tag-freight-corridors","tag-freight-operators","tag-fuel-prices","tag-group-executive-for-delivery","tag-industrial-property-giants","tag-infrastructure-upgrade","tag-launch-pad","tag-liverpool","tag-logistics-superhubs","tag-marsden-park","tag-massive-commuter-change","tag-new-south-wales","tag-news-corp","tag-nicole-stoddart","tag-oceania","tag-once-in-a-generation-transformation","tag-passenger-flights","tag-peak-hour-trip","tag-productivity-engine","tag-sydney","tag-travel-times","tag-vehicle-capacity","tag-warehouse-precinct","tag-western-sydney-international-airport","tag-world-stage
["GET
