I sleep with my door closed so evidently, they hadn&#8217;t done a sweep of the apartment before letting people in to inspect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tenant quickly realised an inspection was underway and later discovered the real estate agent had emailed notice at 1pm the previous day for a 10:40am inspection the following morning.<\/p>\n<p>The renter said they had not seen the email and claimed the notice period fell short of the required 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was quite a bizarre start to the day and feels like a bit of a violation of my rights to privacy,&#8221; they said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They added they had been dealing with regular inspections over the past week and a half, usually with two days\u2019 notice.<\/p>\n<p>The post triggered fierce debate online, with many condemning the inspection as invasive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLess than a day\u2019s notice, bloody illegal,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis borders on trespass,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n<p>One woman described the situation as \u201cabsolutely terrifying\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d be screaming at them to get the f*** out and I\u2019d also be calling the police,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey know it\u2019s bad so they do bad,\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Others urged the renter to formally complain to the agency and document the incident in writing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe sure to get something in writing from them acknowledging this,\u201d one commenter said.<\/p>\n<p>Others defended the property manager, arguing the tenant had been properly notified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey&#8217;re just doing their job,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s your job as a renter to keep on top of those things. They did their duty to notify you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That prompted backlash from other commenters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLess than 24 hours\u2019 notice?
