Current owners Therese and Scott Reid fell in love with \u2018Wyuna\u2019 at first sight, and tried to buy it twice<\/a>: once in 2003 and successfully in 2019.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we tell people where we live, they instantly know the property because of the tree,\u201d Ms Reid said. \u201cIt stayed with us for years. We\u2019d drive past it, talk about it and compare other homes to it. There was just something about Wyuna that stuck with us.\u201d<\/p>\n The couple conducted a massive renovation on the home while raising their three sons there, modernising the Queenslander<\/a> for a family lifestyle.<\/p>\n During this, the couple discovered an original double-sided brick fireplace: part of the original home that had been concealed by walls during a previous renovation.<\/p>\n \u201cWe took the risk and pulled everything off to see what was underneath,\u201d Ms Reid said. \u201cWe loved the character of the old brick, so we kept it exactly as it was.\u201d<\/p>\n With the home sporting 4,806 sqm of land, several entertaining spaces and a large pool, the owners decided to downsize to give the home to a larger family.<\/p>\n Wyuna is now being sold with Place New Farm, seeking offers from $6.75m and above.<\/p>\n Co-agent Ann-Karyn Fraser said the home was seeing high levels of attention not just for its quality, but for its identity within the suburb.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is the type of home people know before they ever step inside,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s been part of the streetscape and local identity for generations.\u201d<\/p>\n Originally published as 100 year-old house up for sale after renovation surprise stuns locals<\/a><\/p>\n
