{"id":17632,"date":"2026-05-24T20:11:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-24T20:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/17632\/"},"modified":"2026-05-24T20:11:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-24T20:11:07","slug":"surprise-detail-discovered-on-century-old-brisbane-river-house-when-home-goes-up-for-sale-following-family-renovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/17632\/","title":{"rendered":"Surprise detail discovered on century-old Brisbane River house when home goes up for sale following family renovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An iconic Brisbane house with more than an acre of space and a century of history is up for sale, after recently restoring one of its oldest and most beautiful features.<\/p>\n<p>The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home at 207 Dewar Tce sits by the Brisbane River in Corinda, known by locals for its massive fig tree.<\/p>\n<p>Current owners Therese and Scott Reid fell in love with \u2018Wyuna\u2019 at first sight, and tried to <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realestate.com.au\/news\/qlds-property-dream-dead-as-construction-crisis-sparks-apartment-collapse\/?campaignType=external&amp;campaignChannel=syndication&amp;campaignName=ncacont&amp;campaignContent=&amp;campaignSource=the_courier_mail&amp;campaignPlacement=article\" title=\"www.realestate.com.au\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">buy it twice<\/a>: once in 2003 and successfully in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we tell people where we live, they instantly know the property because of the tree,\u201d Ms Reid said. \u201cIt stayed with us for years. We\u2019d drive past it, talk about it and compare other homes to it.
