(ABC News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Prime Minister Anthony Albanese today declared he had &#8220;nothing but contempt for anyone who has any sympathy with ISIS&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">He reiterated the government had offered no financial support for ISIS-linked women returning from Syria and warned they would &#8220;face the full force of the law&#8221; on the advice of &#8220;security agencies&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Minister for Home Affairs Tony Burke reaffirmed in a statement the current cohort made plans to travel from Syria to Australia without government assistance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;These are people who have made the horrific choice to join a dangerous terrorist organisation and to place their children in an unspeakable situation,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;As we have said many times \u2014 any members of this cohort who have committed crimes can expect to face the full force of the law.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Earlier this month, four women and a group of children returned from Syria&#8217;s Al-Roj camp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\"><a class=\"Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2026-05-07\/isis-brides-families-land-in-melbourne-sydney-from-syria-camp\/106653104\" data-component=\"Link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Three of the women were arrested and charged by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) on arrival<\/a> in Melbourne and Sydney.
