I’m really, really worried about him. I just can’t understand where he could be,” she told 7News.

“He goes to India often, especially since my mum passed away four years ago. So he’s just been trying to sell his properties there so he can come back and retire.”

Ms Sharma has been told it’s too dangerous for her to travel to India to search for her father herself.

“My brother and I have been told not to go there because it’s not uncommon that family members can also go missing if there is something to do with property or money,” she said.

It’s believed Ms Sharma’s uncle was the last person to see Mr Sharma before he disappeared. There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by the uncle.

“The local authorities just have CCTV so far of. They knew the painters were at the house, the painters were sent away by my uncle apparently and then they’ve got my uncle’s car coming and going from the house four times.

“They’ve got my dad coming to the property (in the) morning, going out for an hour in the afternoon, coming back just before 2pm, just before his phone’s off and then my dad is nowhere to be seen, and his car is completely gone.”

The Department of Foreign Affairs has been contacted for comment. 7News reports it is providing assistance to the family.

Read related topics:Melbourne

The daughter of a high school teacher fears her dad may have been kidnapped or killed after he…

[4
297,19837,23,133,19840,19838,10521,11131,19839,260,379,120,19841,3984,291,19842,68
post-20747","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-melbourne","tag-asia","tag-aussie-teacher","tag-australia","tag-australia-and-new-zealand","tag-department-of-foreign-affairs","tag-diamond-creek","tag-family-members","tag-india","tag-maths-teacher","tag-melbourne","tag-newswire-news","tag-oceania","tag-pakistan","tag-school-teacher","tag-southern-asia","tag-surbhi-sharma","tag-victoria
["GET
