{"id":21555,"date":"2026-05-31T00:33:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T00:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/21555\/"},"modified":"2026-05-31T00:33:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T00:33:10","slug":"adelaides-queer-club-is-back-in-june-for-a-massive-5th-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/21555\/","title":{"rendered":"Adelaide\u2019s Queer Club is back in June for a massive 5th year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Queer Club is officially turning five, and the beloved Adelaide queer music institution is celebrating the milestone the only way it knows how: with a huge lineup, a packed dancefloor and an unapologetically queer celebration of community.<\/p>\n<p>Returning to Unibar ADL on June 27, this year\u2019s Queer Club is shaping up to be its biggest yet.<\/p>\n<p>Since launching in 2022, the event series has become a defining part of Adelaide\u2019s queer nightlife and live music scene.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-175036\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Laura-website-images-100-e1779420259926.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"560\"  \/>Image: Queer Club<\/p>\n<p>Creating a space where LGBTQIA+ artists and audiences can come together, connect and be completely themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Curated by Tayla Carlaw of Pretty Good Thanks, Queer Club began as a one night event designed to spotlight queer artists and creatives in South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, it\u2019s grown into a full blown community institution, with events like Queermas, LOUD &amp; QUEER and Fringe editions helping launch and support a wave of local queer talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQueer Club started as the kind of space we wished existed,\u201d Carlaw said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomewhere queer people could feel completely themselves while discovering incredible local artists while celebrating in, alongside and with the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat began as a one-off event has grown into something with so much life. It\u2019s become a real community, and a platform for queer artists, performers and creatives to be seen, celebrated and supported.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A stacked lineup of queer talent<\/p>\n<p>The lineup is bringing together some of the country\u2019s most exciting emerging queer acts.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the charge is Canberra pop breakout<a href=\"https:\/\/qnews.com.au\/jett-blytons-song-about-being-the-token-gay-goes-viral\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Jett Blyton<\/a>, who recently landed on the NME 100 list and has been earning praise from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Tove Lo thanks to viral hit Apeshit.<\/p>\n<p>Joining them are crowd favourites and AC\/DC opener Oscar the Wild, alongside Worm Girlz, Miss Orange Juicy, Awnings, Methylated, Hearsegirl and Monya.<\/p>\n<p>No Queer Club celebration would feel complete without legendary drag performer Ophelia Butt helping bring the sparkle and energy that has become part of the event\u2019s identity over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Past Queer Club lineups have also featured huge names in Australia\u2019s queer music scene, including <a href=\"https:\/\/qnews.com.au\/two-queer-aussie-artists-serving-fresh-new-music-right-now\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">aleksiah<\/a>, Beks, Caroline and Claude and Egoism.<\/p>\n<p>Big Gay Market and an all-ages first<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations kick off from 3 pm with free entry to the Big Gay Market taking over the Unibar Cloisters.<\/p>\n<p>The market will spotlight local queer artists, makers and small businesses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdVE9k6c8Le3mJGmd8WRGnhjryyMnmt7ynYd6joJzCxXTiVeA\/viewform\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stall holder applications are still open.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And in a first for the event, this year\u2019s Queer Club will be all ages.<\/p>\n<p>Opening the doors to younger queer music fans and helping create safer and more accessible spaces for the next generation of LGBTQIA+ creatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReaching five years feels huge, not just because we\u2019ve made it here, but because it proves these spaces matter and people want them to exist\u201d, Carlaw said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/moshtix.com.au\/v2\/event\/queer-club-vol-5-all-ages\/195231\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tickets to Queer Club are available now via Moshtix.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the latest LGBTIQA+\u00a0Sister Girl and Brother Boy\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qnews.com.au\/news\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">news,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qnews.com.au\/entertainment\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">entertainment,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qnews.com.au\/community\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and\u00a0community stories<\/a>\u00a0in Australia, visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qnews.com.au\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">qnews.com.au<\/a>.
