The Melbourne Renegades are searching for a new Women\u2019s Big Bash League coach after the resignation of championship mentor Simon Helmot.<\/p>\n

Helmot led the WBBL Renegades to the championship in 2024 after joining the club in a men\u2019s and women\u2019s capacity in 2020.<\/p>\n

A statement from the Renegades on Friday morning said Helmot resigned to \u201cexplore a new opportunity\u201d.<\/p>\n

Melbourne Renegades general manager James Rosengarten said Helmot \u201cleft a lasting mark on our program and the broader Victorian cricket community\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimon has been an extraordinary Renegades person for a long time, and someone who has given so much to our club,\u201d Rosengarten said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not only delivered success on the field but has had a profound impact on the people and the environment around him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way he connects with players, staff and fans and the care he brings to his work has left a lasting mark on our program and the broader Victorian cricket community. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe leaves with our full support as he takes on an exciting new opportunity, and we\u2019re incredibly proud to see him continue his journey.<\/p>\n
