(Supplied: Stockwell)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;I think we&#8217;ve learned a lot of lessons by being involved in South Bank over the years, where you&#8217;ve got to have this mix of residential, places where people work, entertainment and restaurants,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;We just want to take it to the next level and build on what we&#8217;ve been doing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Stockwell said while he expected development of the five-hectare site to take up to 15 years, his focus was on creating a world-class precinct for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;We want this to be a party area, for it to be an entertainment area and an area that can have 100,000 Brisbane mums and dads and kids that [can] come here and can be part of that Olympic experience,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Stockwell said he believed a new riverside parkland could feature a &#8220;walk of champions&#8221;, creating an opportunity for fans to interact with athletes as they did in Paris.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A render of people walking along a yellow and green striped walkway with fireworks in the background. \" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/53e06bdbfdd5b71f5caeaa38fad6124d.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Mr Stockwell took inspiration from the Walk of Champions at the Paris Olympics.
