still beaming <\/a>from a pleasant run of mostly over 20-degree temperatures at the tail end of April.<\/p>\nMelbourne observed seven days in a row above 20C, disrupting what would have been a 10-day streak if not for one 19C day on Monday 27th.<\/p>\n
However, the warm weather appears to be coming to an end with rain forecast for five days in a row beginning on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The wet weather forecast is welcome news for crop and sheep farmer Lee Menzel.<\/p>\n
His farm north of Hamilton has been surviving on moisture from earlier in the year, but will need a very wet Winter to get back on track.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had a good spring last year, which grew a lot of dry feed for this year,\u201d said Mr Menzel.<\/p>\n
Despite this carry-over, not all parts of his farm are thriving, and the property\u2019s dams are dangerously low.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe wet weather can come because we need to fill a few of our dams,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are very low, so we need a significant amount of water to fill the dams up.\u201d<\/p>\n
