A man’s body has been found after a shed fire in southern Tasmania, which police say appears to have been deliberately lit.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the shed on Prossers Road, Richmond about 6.25am on Friday.<\/p>\n

“Tasmania Fire Service crews extinguished the fire, which was within a 6-metre by 9-metre steel shed adjacent to a main house,” Tasmania Police said in a statement.<\/p>\n

They said a man’s body was found inside the building.<\/p>\n

“At this stage it is believed the deceased is an adult who frequented the shed on a regular basis,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Investigations are ongoing in relation to the cause of the fire \u2014 which is believed to have been deliberately lit \u2014 to determine if there are any suspicious circumstances.”<\/p>\n

Tasmania Police says no other buildings were impacted by the two fires. (ABC News: Sophie Jaggers)<\/p>\n

Police are also investigating a fire on Franklin Street, Richmond, which was reported about 5.50am.<\/p>\n

They said a small business was damaged by that fire, and the man who died was linked to both properties.<\/p>\n

Police said there is no evidence to suggest any other person was involved.<\/p>\n

They also confirmed no other buildings were damaged by the fires.<\/p>\n
