A hero father has rescued his three young children from a raging house fire, with detectives<\/a> now investigating whether the blaze is suspicious.<\/p>\n

The family-of-five ran for their lives after their home in St Albans, northwest Melbourne<\/a>, became consumed by flames about 7.20pm on Sunday.<\/p>\n

A mother, father and their three young children, including a one-year-old baby boy, managed to escape the inferno.<\/p>\n

Nearby residents rushed to help as firefighters tackled to bring the blaze under control. <\/p>\n

\u201cI saw the dad pulling the kids out, screaming call for help. Call for help,\u201d neighbour Miralem Ekic said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was wild, I haven\u2019t seen anything like that before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the reality of how much damage the fire had cause quickly set in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree small kids makes it worse,\u201d neighbour Rennae Bailey said<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving to start over, they\u2019ve lost everything.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike, they don\u2019t know what to do or where to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family had only moved into the government-owned house a few months ago.<\/p>\n

Authorities are now trying to figure out the cause of the fire.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey don\u2019t know where it started. He thinks an electric heater that fell over,\u201d Bailey said.<\/p>\n
