Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that up-and-coming young midfielder Lucas Scicluna has joined the club on a two-year contract.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old spent last season with Newcastle Jets, making ten A-League appearances as the Hunter Valley side claimed the Premiership title.<\/p>\n

Earlier in his career, Scicluna was a part of the youth set up at English clubs Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers before returning to Australia and making his ALM debut for Central Coast Mariners in Round 14 of the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n

The dual Australian and Maltese national, who has represented Malta at Under-19 and Under-21 level, is now looking forward to opening a new chapter in his career here in the West.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m incredibly excited to join this club and be part of what the team is building,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the moment I spoke with the club, I could see the ambition and vision for success.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to working hard every day, contributing to the team and helping the club get back to where it belongs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that Scicluna is a player with great potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cLucas has a very high ceiling and is perfectly suited to the style of football Griff [Head Coach Adam Griffiths] wants to play,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s technically good, reads the game and keeps the ball well, has a great engine and is ready for a breakout season.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll help provide strong competition in a crucial position and we\u2019re excited to see him develop with us over the next couple of years.\u201d<\/p>\n
