A man has been left with potentially “lifelong” injuries after an alleged glassing attack at a Western Sydney McDonald’s.<\/p>\n
A 24-year-old man was in a group gathered in the carpark of the restaurant on Mulgoa Road in Penrith when three people, allegedly armed with machetes, approached them at 3.15am on March 22.<\/p>\n
Police allege the man was hit twice by a broken bottle and then punched in the face, leaving a deep laceration to the side of his face.<\/p>\n
The victim was taken to Nepean Hospital, where he underwent surgery for serious facial injuries.<\/p>\n
He has since been released, but police have been told the injuries could potentially have a “lifelong” impact.<\/p>\n
Vision from the restaurant, released by police, showed a man believed to be aged in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a black hooded jumper with a white horizontal stripe, with black pants and black shoes.<\/p>\n
Police are keen to speak with two other youths they believe can assist with their inquiries.<\/p>\n
They have been described as both being male, aged 16 to 17, of Caucasian appearance, and with a slim build.<\/p>\n
The first youth was last seen wearing a plain black, hooded jumper, long black pants and black Nike runners, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The second youth was described as having short, dark hair and, at the time, was not wearing a shirt.<\/p>\n
Detectives also released vision of a white Toyota Hilux with a silver tray and silver toolbox, which was seen nearby.<\/p>\n
Investigators are hopeful the driver may have information – or dashcam vision – which can assist their inquiries.<\/p>\n
