David Mills\u2019 \u2018Glamour + Despair\u2019 is a screamingly jaded look at the apocalypse and a scathing romp through the boneyard of contemporary culture, which just played two sold-out shows as part of this year\u2019s Adelaide Cabaret Festival. <\/p>\n
David is based in NYC, and is an American stand-up, cabaret singer and actor who spent more than a decade on the cutthroat London stand-up circuit. He\u2019s opened for the likes of Trevor Noah, Margaret Cho and Ed Byrne, and has taken several acclaimed shows to the Edinburgh Fringe. <\/p>\n
Not to mention, he\u2019s appeared in films alongside Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Benedict Cumberbatch, Harrison Ford and Rami Malek.<\/p>\n

\u2018Glamour + Despair\u2019 sees David eviscerating everything from celebrity to casual sex, LGBTQIA+ pride to social media, drugs to affirmations, and plenty more. His sharply satirical comedy takes aim at the harrowing headlines of today. <\/p>\n
David will mix biting stand-up, storytelling and a singular take on classic nightclub cabaret, into uncharted performance territory. The show is a provocative mash-up of biting wit and dingy basement cabaret reinterpretations including forgotten \u201870s soul, indie bar room laments, twisted disco, and a current dance rock anthem. <\/p>\n
You can also expect underappreciated gems from Oscar Brown, Tom Waits, Charlie Smalls, Odyssey and Sports Team. <\/p>\n
