Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan has slammed the “hero” actions of a parent who leaked his side’s confidential notes on Essendon players.<\/p>\n

Private information out of the club was posted online ahead of the Lions’ 64-point mauling of the Bombers on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Photos that listed the strengths and weaknesses of Essendon’s players were shared in a Bombers supporter group on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Former Essendon captain Zach Merrett was described as “selfish”, while maligned defender Ben McKay had “low confidence” written about him.<\/p>\n

It is believed the image was taken by the parent of an Auskick participant at the Lions’ training headquarters.<\/p>\n

Fagan slammed the “hero” actions of a parent who leaked confidential information ahead of the Lions’ victory over the Bombers. (ABC News: Danielle Bonica)<\/p>\n

“Somebody illegally took photos of information that was on a whiteboard and then decided to make a hero of themselves and put it out in the public domain,” Fagan said.<\/p>\n

“I reckon it’s a little unfair when it’s your workplace and it’s what you do every day \u2026 we’ve been doing it for nine years \u2026 writing the strengths and vulnerabilities of opposition players up on a whiteboard.<\/p>\n

“That man was there with his children, using our facility, and he decides to do that because he’s an Essendon supporter and be a hero.<\/p>\n

“I think that’s really disappointing.”<\/p>\n

It is believed the name of Jaxon Prior’s partner was listed under “strengths” on the whiteboard.<\/p>\n

Fagan said he spoke to Prior, a former Lions defender, after the match.<\/p>\n

He admitted the incident made him think twice about allowing external people to access facilities at the club at its Springfield Central Stadium headquarters.<\/p>\n

“We go out of our way to bring the community into our football club and use our facilities,” Fagan said.<\/p>\n

“For someone to do that, it’s really disappointing, and it makes you feel like not bringing the community in and just keeping it exclusive as an elite performance centre.<\/p>\n

“But we’ll keep bringing the community in, because we’re a good footy club, and that’s how we go about things.”<\/p>\n

Speaking to ABC Sport, Brisbane veteran Dwayne Zorko echoed Fagan’s disappointment in the leak, while also revealing his side was made aware of the breach on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

“It was probably harmless \u2026 it’s not new for us, we’ve done an opposition board for a number of years, ever since Fages (coach Chris Fagan) has been at our football club,” Zorko said.<\/p>\n

“We want to know a little bit more about our opposition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We’re obviously really disappointed with that, but we put that to bed this morning, and we got to work.”<\/p>\n

And Lions co-captain Harris Andrews told Fox Footy the incident may force a re-think of the club’s security protocols.<\/p>\n

“We will have to certainly do some things in regards to security to make sure that information doesn’t get out there,” Andrews said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Essendon coach Brad Scott appeared unfazed by the incident, saying it was an issue for the Lions to deal with.<\/p>\n

“Brisbane have done that (listing strengths and weaknesses) for years, so that’s nothing new,” Scott said.<\/p>\n
