In a major milestone\u202fto\u202fstrengthen\u202ftertiary\u202feducation in Western Sydney,\u202fUNSW Sydney\u202fhas\u202fannounced\u202fits plan to extend its presence in Parramatta, having just signed a new lease as part of the expansion.<\/p>\n
Over 10 years,\u202fmore than\u202f$65\u202fmillion\u202fwill be invested\u202fin a multi-faculty campus in Parramatta\u202fwhich will accommodate up to 350 students daily.\u202f<\/p>\n
\u201cThis\u202fis an investment that sits at the core of our mission to\u202fadvance social equality and economic prosperity\u202fthrough increased access to quality\u202feducation,\u201d said\u202fUNSW Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Attila Brungs.\u202f<\/p>\n
\u201cModern universities are not behind ivory towers but integrated across communities.\u202fWhen 56% of all higher education enrolments in Sydney are in Western Sydney, the case is clear: world-class education should meet people where they are,\u201d Professor Brungs said.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n

UNSW Law & Justice faculty delivers programs in Parramatta<\/p>\n
The first offering at the expanded Parramatta location will be in 2027, a Juris Doctor postgraduate program delivered by UNSW\u2019s Law & Justice. The faculty is the highest-ranking Law and Legal Studies program in Sydney, say the QS and Times Higher Education rankings.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe bring experienced academics and a strong reputation with employers, and we’re looking forward to contributing to, and learning from, the local community,\u201d said Professor Andrew Lynch, Dean of UNSW\u202fLaw & Justice.\u202f<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are excited\u202four program can now meet\u202fmany of our students where they are, and to\u202ffacilitate them gaining practical knowledge through engaging with the energy and strength of the legal profession in Western Sydney,\u201d said Professor Lynch.<\/p>\n

Basma McCredie graduated from UNSW\u2019s Juris Doctor program last year and now works as an Associate to a judge in the Federal Circuit and Family Court in Parramatta. Growing up in Southwest Sydney, she regularly undertook long commutes to UNSW\u2019s Kensington campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am thrilled to learn that a world-class education is now close to where we live.\u202fThis campus will save students hours of commuting \u2013\u202f time that can be better spent studying, working or with our families,\u201d she said.\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n
