But the seven-game losing streak means the Broncos sit 13th on the ladder with five wins from 14 games and last year\u2019s premiership run feels a distant memory. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Broncos, they\u2019re in big trouble,\u201d Braith Anasta said post-game on Kayo Sports. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve got to win eight out of their last nine games. They did try hard but they lack X-factor and they couldn\u2019t go to another gear.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cooper Cronk said: \u201cI don\u2019t think they play finals.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kevin Walters and Shaun Johnson said Brisbane\u2019s disappointing campaign could be put down to a contribution of factors including injuries and a change in expectations.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone\u2019s questioning why the Broncos are sitting where they are,\u201d Walters said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve had some injuries, some players not quite playing where they were last year. It\u2019s a whole mixture of things. It\u2019s not just one single element to the Broncos. <\/p>\n
\u201cI thought they tried really hard, they just didn\u2019t have enough out there to beat the Roosters. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Roosters are confident winning side. When you\u2019re not winning, you lose seven games in a row, that just leaks confidence out of you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Johnson added: \u201cI thought they were tough tonight. They can take a lot away from it. There\u2019s that element of fatigue.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy take is when there\u2019s success, it creates a certain level of expectation internally. As teammates and players, sometimes when things don\u2019t play out the way you want them to or expect you can start really unravel. That\u2019s what I see happened. They might feel like they can get these wins and understand what good performance looks like, but when it doesn\u2019t unfold the way they want it to, then what?<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2019We\u2019ve just won a comp, we\u2019ve done some special things as a group, why can\u2019t we go it again?\u2019 <\/p>\n

Maroons star faces nervous wait
Queensland will be sweating on Linday Collins\u2019 availability for the State of Origin decider after the Roosters prop was placed on report for a high shot on Brisbane\u2019s Xavier Willison, who played no further part in the game. <\/p>\n
Collins also came off himself later in the game after suffereing a head knock. The State of Origin decider is 12 days away so Collins won\u2019t be able to train in Maroons camp even if he he escapes suspension.<\/p>\n
Robert Toia and Sam Walker were also put on report but are unlikely to be suspended.<\/p>\n
