A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was shot on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to a home on Loder Street in Biggera Waters about 8pm yesterday after reports a 23-year-old woman had suffered life-threatening gunshot injuries.<\/p>\n
The woman was declared dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Sharon Burgess was at home when she heard a commotion from the neighbouring house.<\/p>\n
She said she called for an ambulance and rushed inside to help the woman, then performed CPR on her with instructions from the Triple Zero operator over the phone.<\/p>\n

“It’s very confronting,” Ms Burgess, who knew the victim, said of the incident.<\/p>\n
Another local Charlie Jackson said he “felt sick in the stomach” after finding out a woman had allegedly been shot.<\/p>\n
Police arrested the Biggera Waters man without incident.<\/p>\n
He has since been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence) and unlawful possession of a weapon used to commit an indictable offence.<\/p>\n
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates’ Court today.<\/p>\n
Police said investigations were ongoing.<\/p>\n
