Three people who died after a “grisly” incident at a home in Sydney’s south-west are members of the same family, police say.<\/p>\n

Thirty-two-year-old Jacky Amazing Feng, a member of the family, was arrested for what police alleged was a domestic violence-related incident.<\/p>\n

He was charged on Sunday evening with three counts of murder (DV) and one of attempted murder (DV).<\/p>\n

He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday.<\/p>\n

Just after 1:30am on Sunday, emergency services were called to a Rosemeadow house where police discovered the bodies of a 65-year-old mother and her 25-year-old son.<\/p>\n

Campbelltown City Police Area Command Superintendent Grant Healey said on arrival, officers were “confronted with a very grisly crime scene”.<\/p>\n

“A 65-year-old woman [was who] police first encountered and they started doing first aid with her and she was taken into the rear of the yard so ambulance and police could do first aid,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Police then went inside the house and found a 64-year-old male who was still alive with serious blunt force injuries and a little bit later when police went through the premise, they found a 25-year-old male deceased in a granny flat at the rear of the premise.<\/p>\n

“It appears that they’re all family members, it appears that it’s the parents, which are the two people in their 60s and the brother who was 25.”<\/p>\n

The father later died at Liverpool Hospital.<\/p>\n

Police confirmed a 30-year-old son of the couple also received serious injuries during the alleged assault, but was able to make the call to emergency services.<\/p>\n

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition and had since been treated and discharged.<\/p>\n

About 2:30am, after the crime scene was established, when Mr Feng arrived in a silver sedan and was arrested.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Healey said emergency services were confronted with a “very bloody scene”.<\/p>\n

“Looking at some of the injuries, we suspect there might be more than one style of weapon, so we think that there’s a bladed weapon involved as well as some type of weapon that can create a blunt force injury,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We’ve got to recover what weapons are inside the house so whilst we can say it’s a hammer, we’ve got to be 100 per cent sure, so we’ll take our time and investigate.<\/p>\n

“Blunt force trauma is always horrendous for people to confront, any edged-weapon attack is always horrendous to confront, so the police and ambulance did a fantastic job in very trying circumstances.”<\/p>\n

Superintendent Healey said the family all lived at the same house and was not known to police.<\/p>\n

“This is a very tragic incident, but there was no way for us to predict this type of thing was going to occur,” he said.<\/p>\n

When asked about whether mental health, drugs or alcohol played a part, Superintendent Healey said it would form part of the investigation.<\/p>\n

Nearby residents said they were shocked by the incident, which was out of character for the area.<\/p>\n

“It is a quiet neighbourhood. We don’t have any trouble since I heard this now, but it’s tragic, isn’t it,” local Julie Kearney said.<\/p>\n

“I feel sorry for the family and what they’re going through.”<\/p>\n

Another resident, Thai Vu, said his opinion about the area changed after this incident.<\/p>\n

“It’s generally a pretty safe and quiet neighbourhood … I guess after this incident, I don’t feel as safe anymore,” he said.<\/p>\n

Moin Shaik said when he arrived home at 2am, there were lots of police and ambulances on the street.<\/p>\n

“It did kind of shocked me when I heard the news that the three people got killed,” he said.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Healey takes a few more questions but is unable to provide any new information, other than to confirm all five people involved in the incident were living at the address.<\/p>\n

Police are canvassing in Rosemeadow, also seeking info on silver sedan<\/p>\n

Superintendent Healey calls last night’s incident “incredibly rare” and incredibly tragic”.<\/p>\n

He still can’t speculate as to what could have motivated the attack, but says police are currently contacting Rosemeadow residents\u00a0to see if anyone has more information.<\/p>\n

He adds that any members of the public who have information that could help investigators should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.<\/p>\n

Police are still working to track the movement of the suspect during his short absence from the scene, he adds.<\/p>\n

“If anybody saw a silver sedan in the Rosemeadow area in that time of the morning, could they contact us please,” he says.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Healey cannot say where the injured brother was when police arrived at the scene, only that “he had the ability to contact police”.<\/p>\n

Asked whether police are investigating the possibility of others being involved in the attack, however, he offers a definitive no.<\/p>\n

“There was only one person involved in this incident,” he says.<\/p>\n

The surviving brother made the call to Triple Zero, he adds.<\/p>\n
