Magic was in the air at St John of God Murdoch Hospital in May after sisters who shared their entire pregnancy journeys gave birth just three days apart.<\/p>\n
Graciella Fabian and Dianara Asoi discovered they were expecting one day after the other. They went on to experience every moment of the special journey together, from morning sickness to ultrasounds.<\/p>\n
The sisters both chose Dr Will Adams as their obstetrician, allowing them to attend appointments together and prepare for the next big step \u2014 childbirth.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt honestly felt surreal that this had actually happened,\u201d Ms Fabian said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMore than anything, we were just so happy and grateful that both babies arrived healthy and safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Asoi gave birth to a baby boy on May 25 and Ms Fabian quickly followed suite with a little girl on May 28.<\/p>\n
Ms Fabian said she felt blessed to share something so significant with her sister.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt made the whole experience so much fun because we were literally going through everything together,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019d find ourselves throwing up in the bathroom at the same time, meeting in the kitchen in the middle of the night because we were both hungry and going to all our appointments together.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said sharing ultrasound appointments was her favourite part of the journey.<\/p>\n
\u201cWatching our babies grow and seeing them on the screen each time was such an emotional and special experience,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
To make it even more magical, the sisters said their four-year-old niece Sohara had predicted everything before they even knew they were pregnant.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe kept telling us that we both had babies in our tummies,\u201d Ms Fabian said.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe also confidently predicted that my sister would have a boy and that I would have a girl. Amazingly, she was right.\u201d<\/p>\n
The rest of the family was thrilled to welcome the newest additions, with plenty of chaotic hospital visits moving between the two rooms.<\/p>\n
Ms Fabian said the team at St John of God accommodated the chaos and made sure the girls were taken care of together.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe both felt incredibly supported, cared for and reassured every step of the way,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving our babies delivered just three days apart made the experience even more special, and we are so grateful to the midwives, nurses, doctors and support staff who looked after both us and our babies with such kindness and professionalism.\u201d<\/p>\n
After such a sweet start, the sisters are hopeful the baby cousins will grow up being best friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince they were born only three days apart, they\u2019ve already shared such a unique beginning to life, and I hope that special bond continues as they grow older,\u201d Ms Fabian said.<\/p>\n
