33 jam-packed days of performances, parties, workshops and community events that transformed the Oxford Street precinct into one giant queer celebration. The final curtain has fallen on Qtopia Sydney\u2019s<\/a> Pride Fest 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

From drag and cabaret<\/a> to dance and defence classes<\/a> and community conversations, Pride Fest 2026 wrapped up with record crowds and plenty of unforgettable moments<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Firmly cementing its place as a mainstay in the Australian LGBTQIA+ cultural calendar, this year\u2019s festival delivered a beautiful celebration of community, culture and conversation.<\/p>\n

More events, more artists and more Pride<\/p>\n

Pride Fest 2026 featured 312 events and 250 artists, more than doubling last year\u2019s program.<\/a><\/p>\n

The crowds followed too, with attendance jumping from around 8,000 people in 2025 to more than 20,000 this year.<\/p>\n

Rather than staying within Qtopia Sydney\u2019s own venues, the festival spilled out across Oxford Street, taking over spaces including The Eternity Playhouse, Ginger\u2019s at the Oxford and Universal Upstairs and Downstairs.<\/p>\n

Something for every kind of queer<\/p>\n

One of Pride Fest\u2019s biggest features was its variety.<\/p>\n

Whether you wanted to belt out show tunes, see exceptional drag, catch an intimate theatre performance, join a dance class or simply gather the crew for a queer night out, there was something on almost every day.<\/p>\n

Helping to broaden the festival were a few new additions to the program.<\/p>\n

Pride Fest: Intersections celebrated culturally diverse LGBTQIA+ communities, Pride Fest: New Voices\u00a0showcased emerging works, and Fit N\u2019 Proud gave\u00a0a program dedicated to sport, fitness and movement<\/p>\n

All proving that Pride can look however you want it to.<\/p>\n

A festival powered by community<\/p>\n

Festival Director Carly Fisher said the incredible audience response made this year\u2019s event especially meaningful.<\/p>\n

She thanked the community for embracing the expanded festival, noting that queer storytelling, education, commemoration and celebration only thrive when people turn up and support them.<\/p>\n

That support was impossible to miss throughout the month, with packed audiences filling theatres, workshops, community events and performance spaces across the precinct.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so proud of the work we\u2019ve been able to do at Qtopia Sydney to have made this momentous festival possible,\u201d Fisher said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith record-breaking audience numbers, we\u2019re very happy that the community showed up to make this year\u2019s Pride Fest the success that it was. With Pride Month now officially behind us, Pride Fest 2026 has cemented itself as one of Australia\u2019s standout LGBTQIA+ cultural festivals.<\/p>\n

For those lucky enough to attend, it was a month filled with laughter, conversations, standing ovations, new friendships and countless moments of queer joy.<\/p>\n

But the celebration of our art and culture doesn\u2019t stop now that Pride Fest is over. There is always something happening at Qtopia Sydney!<\/p>\n

This week, Bayley Turner opens Thirty-Six<\/a>, a riotous celebration of life or a ritual of mourning \u2014 you decide.<\/p>\n

Qtopia Sydney will continue its year-round mission as the world\u2019s largest centre dedicated to queer history and culture, proving that while Pride Month may be over, celebrating LGBTQIA+ stories never really stops.<\/p>\n
