One Aussie beach staple has left a British tourist bewildered, saying he thought it was a joke when he first heard about beachside barbecues.<\/p>\n
Backpacker Tucker, who is originally from England but now lives in the Gold Coast, documented his first time experiencing a free barbecue at a beach during his first week Down Under.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot going to lie, I thought people were joking when they told me,\u201d he said in the caption of the video posted in May.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne minute I\u2019m jet-lagged out my mind\u2026next minute I\u2019m cooking sausages in a park with good people at night.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tucker showed the barbecue on camera, explaining that \u201cthe beach is over there are you literally just come, you turn it on, you dash on your stuff\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is genius,\u201d he said, before questioning why England doesn\u2019t have free public barbecues.<\/p>\n
Tucker explained in the caption that the craziest part is that \u201ceveryone actually respects them and cleans up after themselves\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cLowkey starting to understand why so many people never leave once they get here,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
The classic free barbecues were praised by Aussies in the comments, who shared their own personal experiences using them.<\/p>\n
