(ABC News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">It has also affected train services in several states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">V\/Line said it was &#8220;assessing the situation and will advise when trains will resume&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The operator said there was &#8220;no estimated time for rectification at this stage&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Replacement coaches are operating from Southern Cross Station, but V\/Line said space on the coaches was &#8220;very limited&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Passengers are advised to defer travel where possible,&#8221;  a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Train passenger Simone said she was stuck on a train at Ballan, north-west of Melbourne.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;The V\/Line staff don&#8217;t know about any [replacement] coaches or anything,&#8221; she told ABC Radio Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;We&#8217;ve been told Ballan doesn&#8217;t have any Ubers, taxis or anything like that, so we&#8217;re just stuck here until we get more information.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A person looking at their phone.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/5e6b9b20845e45a2492584448c261d7f.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">A commuter checks their phone while waiting for V\/Line services to resume at Melbourne&#8217;s Southern Cross Station. (ABC News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Gippsland resident Wendy Farmer was up early to catch the 5:59am train from Moe to Melbourne for a conference, but was now stuck at Warragul Station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;We can get off the train and just wait outside the station, but it&#8217;s pretty cold out there at the moment,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Ms Farmer said V\/Line staff had advised commuters that if they could make their way to Pakenham, they could continue into the city on the metro train network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;I&#8217;m not sure how we&#8217;re going to get there.
