The outage is also affecting services including Aldi Mobile, Belong and Boost.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Just before 8am, the telco said it had made progress with restoring services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cWe\u2019ve made good progress restoring services, with around 90 per cent of calls and data now flowing successfully across the network. Our teams are working as quickly as possible to restore remaining services and get all customers back online.,\u201d a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cWe know how much our customers rely on our network and understand just how much of a disruption this is to your day. For that we\u2019re so sorry. We\u2019ll share further updates until all is resolved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Addressing media, Telstra Chief Financial Officer Michael Ackland said an issue with the timing of network nodes were to blame, but the root cause was yet to be determined. He did however rule out anything malicious.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cWe have nothing to indicate malicious activity. We\u2019ve been in contact with all regulators and government agencies to that effect. Unknown Credit: Unknown\/Facebook<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The issue was causing intermittent outages with data and voice services, which he confirmed had affected a handful of calls to Triple Zero.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">In instances of failed calls to Triple Zero, Telstra is conducting its own welfare checks, Mr Ackland said, adding he could not confirm what time exactly the issue would be completely resolved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Tens of thousands of services could be affected, but he said \u201cit\u2019s more likely in the thousands\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Those with access to WiFi are encouraged to use that, and people with trouble making calls are encouraged to keep trying.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">WA Police early on Wednesday issued advice for people relying on the telco to phone in an emergency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cA Telstra outage is currently affecting customers nationwide, impacting their ability to make phone calls, including calls to Triple Zero from Telstra services,\u201d a statement read.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cIf you have a vulnerable family member, friend, neighbour or co-worker, consider offering support during the service disruption.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cIf you are affected and do not have access to an alternative mobile or landline service, police recommend making arrangements with a neighbour, family member, or friend so you can access a working telephone in an emergency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Police communication systems are not affected and users are urged to check the Telstra website for updates.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/d7085e05b24cfb6518cbba8c977abc750a3f353d.jpg\" alt=\"Every city has been impacted by the Telstra outage.\" class=\"css-16r7l45-StyledImage en5ut4d0\"\/>Camera IconEvery city has been impacted by the Telstra outage. Credit: NewsWire<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">St John Ambulance is working with relevant stakeholders towards a resolution, a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The minister for emergency management Kristy McBain said the Government has been advised of the outage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cWe understand Telstra is working on resolving the issue, and arrangements are being made for affected rail passengers,\u201d she said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cLike all telcos, Telstra must notify customers and emergency services of any major outage.
