Daily Telegraph<\/a> last week of reprising her role as US Special Forces fighter Sonya Blade in the movie adaptation of the famed video game. <\/p>\n\u201cI was like, \u2018Great, I need an excuse to get back in shape.\u2019 I\u2019d been kind of slacking off in the lead-up, so it was a good incentive,\u201d she added. \u201cThere was no part of me that groaned \u2013 I would continue making these films for as long as they let me.\u201d<\/p>\n
McNamee first played the kick-ass character in the movie reboot Mortal Kombat back in 2021.<\/p>\n
Like in that film, the sequel was filmed in Australia \u2013 the reboot was filmed in Adelaide, but this time around they set up production on the Gold Coast, with Australian director Simon McQuoid again at the helm.<\/p>\n
Celebrations continue on Tuesday evening when McNamee and the cast cross the border to the Gold Coast to attend the official Australian premiere of Mortal Kombat II at Event Cinemas in Pacific Fair.<\/p>\n
McNamee has been a fan favourite on screens since her days on Home And Away, playing Lisa Duffy for 32 episodes in 2007. After her stint in Summer Bay, she joined Packed to the Rafters, playing the loveable Sammy Rafter from 2008 to 2013. <\/p>\n
