Bronson Xerri will join the Melbourne Storm in 2027 after the club announced they\u2019d signed the strike centre on a three-year deal. <\/p>\n
The 25-year-old still had another year remaining on his contract with Canterbury, but the Bulldogs gave him permission to leave early. <\/p>\n
Xerri will join fellow outside back Jamayne Isaako as key signings for the Storm in 2027, with Will Warbrick and Nick Meaney to depart at the end of the year, while Jack Howarth\u2019s future at the club remains uncertain.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a tough, competitive player with great speed and athleticism who we believe will be an important addition to our outside backs heading into the next three years.<\/p>\n

Xerri had been linked with a move away from Belmore earlier this year after he was dropped just one game into the season following their win in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n
Bulldogs officials weren\u2019t impressed with how he handled the demotion to NSW Cup, but he won his spot back and was strong again in the centres before he was dropped back to the bench to make way for Matt Burton, who was shifted wide with Stephen Crichton moving to five-eighth.<\/p>\n
Ironically, his best game of the year came against the Storm when Xerri ran for 207m and broke 13 tackles in round 12. <\/p>\n
The strike centre has played 54 games for Canterbury so far after they provided him with a career lifeline following a four-year ban for using performance-enhancing substances. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve really enjoyed my time as a Bulldog and have been lucky enough to form friendships that will last a lifetime,\u201d Xerri said, with the centre to remain at the Bulldogs for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n
