(ABC News: Michael Franchi)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Tourism operators will today hold a roundtable discussion in Darwin to try to figure out how to prevent further tourism seasons from being impacted by closures in Kakadu.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">In response to the sector outcry over the closures, Parks Australia said it had slashed Kakadu entry fees for the season and waived fees for tourism operators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;Kakadu park pass fees have been reduced to wet season pricing to encourage park visitation,&#8221; a Parks Australia spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;Support is also being provided to the tourism industry with current Commercial Tourism Operator permit agreements extended for one year at no additional cost and Commercial Tourism Operator licence fees waived for the 2026 tour season.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"An access prohibited sign on a dirt road in a national park.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/621eb43d9393c9999c186e3f1ee1cacc.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Signs are up currently in Kakadu, including this one prohibiting access to the road into Maguk.
