Quillan Salkilld<\/a> has always imagined competing against fighters like Mateusz Gamrot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Salkilld knocked out Beneil Dariush<\/a> in the first round of the co-main event at UFC Perth<\/a> last weekend. Salkilld subsequently called for a matchup against Gamrot. Explaining his callout, Salkilld says that he is a fan of Gamrot\u2019s scrappy style of wrestling. The Australian has also recently watched a lot of tape of Gamrot\u2019s 2022 loss to Dariush. Considering Gamrot\u2019s slot in the Ultimate Fighting Championship<\/a>\u2019s official rankings, Salkilld believes it is a good time for him to fight the Pole. While Salkilld is known for his knockout power, he wants to test himself on the mat against Gamrot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love watching Gamrot,\u201d Salkilld told MMA Junkie<\/a>. \u201cI like the wrestling style; he has an exciting wrestling style where he just hits scrambles. And I was watching him vs. Beneil many times leading up to the Beneil fight. He is the kind of fight I\u2019ve always pictured myself having. He just had a good win, he\u2019s ranked No. 7, so he is inside the Top 10. So just with the timing of everything, I thought that\u2019s a good next step for me\u2026 I want to have a tussle as well with Gamrot, I\u2019d love to have some scrambles on the mat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gamrot (26-4) is coming off a submission win over an up-and-coming Estevan Ribovics that saw him rebound from a submission loss against Charles Oliveira<\/a>.
