victim’s 36-year-old son<\/a> was arrested after he was found inside a car on Parkes Avenue, Werrington about 6.45am on Thursday.<\/p>\n\u201cThe man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries before he was taken to Nepean Hospital under police guard,\u201d a police statement said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter being released from hospital, the man was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was (charged with) murder.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police said the 36-year-old man was well known to the authorities, but his criminal history was unrelated to the man’s father.<\/p>\n
Nepean Police Area Commander Superintendent Trent King said inquiries into the circumstances of the older man’s death were ongoing.<\/p>\n
He said the 64-year-old man lived at the property, but the 36-year-old did not.<\/p>\n
“There appears to have been an altercation between the two parties there, following a break and enter into the premises \u2014 the front door was forced,” he said.<\/p>\n
“An accelerant appears to have been used \u2026 however there’s no further information at this stage around what actually occurred within the premises.”<\/p>\n
