One Nation leader Pauline Hanson says she supports mass deportations from Australia and plans to mimic the hardline policies of hard-right UK counterparts.<\/p>\n
Hanson is in Europe where she has been buffeted by both sides of the political spectrum after she was pictured holidaying at an up-market Italian hotel with mining magnate Gina Rinehart and taking in a Dolce & Gabbana fashion show.<\/p>\n
She also appeared on a podcast with far-right figure Tommy Robinson and spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference in London, where she called for cuts to immigration and criticised trans rights.<\/p>\n
On Sunday night she appeared on Seven\u2019s Spotlight program where she was filmed meeting with Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe who has touted plans for \u201cmass deportations\u201d of foreign-born migrants.<\/p>\n
Asked if she supported the policy and would like a similar scheme in Australia, she told Spotlight: \u201cI love it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what Britain wants to do here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked how she would implement such a program and the logistics of it, she said: \u201cThese are things that will be discussed with the relevant authorities to see the best way to go about it. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not gonna give you politics on the run here of how I\u2019m going to deal with it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis will be discussed\u2026 as I do with everything in policy, I discuss it with the relevant people.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said she supported the deportation of \u201cthe ones that are here illegally in the country\u201d.<\/p>\n
Asked if she regretted saying in a Press Club speech that Australia should be a \u201cmonoculture\u201d, she said \u201cGod, no.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not out there dragging them to come to Australia,\u201d Hanson told the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey choose to come to Australia. Why do you think they chose to come to Australia? Because it\u2019s the best country.\u201d<\/p>\n
During the program, she was filmed visiting parts of Britain with large migrant populations with Robinson.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hate seeing the burqa,\u201d she told the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese women covered up, I can\u2019t stand it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Told by Robinson: \u201cFrom this point, every shop, every business, every home, everything is Muslim.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, I don\u2019t want this happening in Australia,\u201d Hanson replied.<\/p>\n
Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has several criminal convictions, including for the common assault of an off-duty police officer.<\/p>\n
Asked if it was appropriate for her to meet with Robinson given he was denied entry to Australia on character grounds, Hanson said: \u201cI\u2019m listening to his experiences here in Britain.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat has happened to his country, the town that he actually grew up in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pressed on whether she regretted her previous comments describing Islam as a \u201cdisease\u201d, she said \u201cno.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI do see it (Islam) as incompatible,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Asked if the million-plus Muslim who live in Australia might be offended by her remarks, she said: \u201cDoes anyone take consideration of how I might be offended by what\u2019s happening to the Australian cultural way of life.\u201d<\/p>\n
