Once operating, the development is expected to generate between $70 million and $100 million in annual economic benefits for the region.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Barossa-Valley-InterContinental-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-691513 webpexpress-processed\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The proposal was declared a Major Project on 8 August 2024 and was assessed as an Impact Assessed Development, the highest level of assessment available under South Australia\u2019s planning system.
