Firefighters are have battled a serious house fire in Brisbane\u2019s north.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to a property on Robinson Road West in Aspley about 2.50pm to fine it fully engulfed in flames. <\/p>\n
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said seven crews attended and took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. <\/p>\n
It is uncertain at this stage whether there was any one inside when the fire broke out. <\/p>\n
Queensland Fire Department incident controller Simon Hill said they responded to a structure fire at the rear deck of the property. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe managed to extinguish the fire, but the building has been considerably damaged,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
He said no one was inside the building. <\/p>\n
Police detectives were also seen on the scene investigating.<\/p>\n
Robinson Road West was closed for hours. <\/p>\n
A local resident who wished to stay anonymous said the smoke was ridiculous.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was definitely a major fire,\u201d the resident said. <\/p>\n
Coronis Aspley director Nicholas Loftus said he just returned to his office when he learnt that the house next door was on fire. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was very clearly on fire. There was smoke everywhere,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mr Loftus said the community stepped in to help put out the fire. <\/p>\n
\u201cI was on the phone to triple-0, and then there was a fella named Matt,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe was a lovely guy and he was getting a hose, and the lady next door was also getting a hose.\u201d <\/p>\n
