Two men have been charged over an alleged scheme involving the theft of almost half a million dollars during cash deliveries linked to ATMs across Melbourne.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Detectives from the Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit arrested the pair after executing warrants at properties in Mickleham and Dallas early on Wednesday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police launched the investigation last week after reports were made about suspected discrepancies involving cash collected during ATM runs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Investigators allege more than 10 incidents occurred between April and July, with missing funds\u00a0identified\u00a0following ATM transport operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The alleged thefts involved cash movements across several Melbourne suburbs, including\u00a0Tarneit,\u00a0Keilor\u00a0Downs, Delahey, Craigieburn, Sandringham, South Melbourne, Clifton Hill, Essendon, Pascoe\u00a0Vale\u00a0and Mill Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police allege the total value of the missing cash was close to $500,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A 25-year-old Dallas man and a 44-year-old Mickleham man were arrested as part of the investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Both men have since been charged with 11 counts of theft.\u00a0<\/p>\n
They were remanded in custody and are due to face Melbourne Magistrates\u2019 Court on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
