For years, Australian creatives have wondered when Soho House<\/a> would finally arrive in Sydney. Now, there\u2019s an answer.<\/p>\n

Soho House has confirmed that construction on its long-awaited Sydney location is entering its next phase, with the private members\u2019 club scheduled to open in early 2028. Set to become the brand\u2019s first permanent Australian House, the opening marks a milestone after years of cultivating a local creative community through its Cities Without Houses membership program.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the opening, Soho House has also released new renders of the space, offering a first glimpse at the interiors that will soon welcome members from across Australia’s creative industries.<\/p>\n

Where will Soho House Sydney be?<\/p>\n

Soho House Sydney will be located at 256 Crown Street, Darlinghurst, occupying the prominent corner of Crown and Foley Streets in one of the city\u2019s most vibrant cultural precincts.<\/p>\n

Spanning five floors, the House has been designed to offer a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces where members can work, meet, dine and socialise. While full details of the facilities are yet to be revealed, the newly released renders showcase the warm, residential aesthetic synonymous with Soho House locations around the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When will Soho House Sydney open?<\/p>\n

The official opening is now planned for early 2028, with Soho House confirming it is beginning the next phase of construction.<\/p>\n

Although the permanent House is still a little way off, the brand has already spent several years building its Australian membership base. Its Cities Without Houses program launched in Sydney five years ago before expanding to Melbourne three years later, connecting local creatives through a calendar of exclusive cultural events.<\/p>\n

In the past year alone, members have attended experiences including the Vogue x Soho House Design Dinner<\/a>, Sydney Art Fair programming, a Mighty Hoopla pop-up lounge, Soho Weekenders and events during the Sydney Film Festival.<\/p>\n

The community will continue to gather before the House opens, with upcoming events including Wax Tales with Rachel Griffiths and Dan Sultan, Sydney Contemporary, One Night Only dining experiences and this year’s Soho Weekender at Soho House Tokyo.<\/p>\n

How can I enter Soho House Sydney?<\/p>\n

Like all Soho House locations around the world, Soho House Sydney will operate as a private members’ club, meaning entry is reserved for members and their guests.<\/p>\n

For creatives living in Australia, the easiest way to become part of the community before the Sydney House opens is through Cities Without Houses membership. The membership also gives eligible creatives access to Soho House’s global network of Houses while also providing invitations to local events, cultural programming and networking opportunities in Australia.<\/p>\n

Applications are currently open to creatives based in Australia, allowing prospective members to join the community well before the doors officially open in Darlinghurst.<\/p>\n
