A-League stalwart and former Socceroo Andrew Nabbout has rejected a move to Asia to instead sign a new one-year deal with Melbourne City.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood that Nabbout had the chance to join Hong Kong club Lee Man, who are coached by former Wellington Phoenix mentor Giancarlo Italiano.<\/p>\n

However, the 33-year-old forward opted to sign for a seventh season with City.<\/p>\n

\u201cMelbourne City has become home over the past six years, so it means a lot to have the opportunity to pull on the City shirt for another season,\u201d said Nabbout, who has made 115 appearances in all competitions for the Melbourne club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I have an important role to play both on the pitch and around the dressing room. I\u2019m looking forward to embracing that responsibility throughout the season.\u201d <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Brisbane Roar have confirmed the signing of teenage APIA Leichhardt sensation Max Court.<\/p>\n

NewsWire revealed earlier this month that the 17-year-old prodigy was set to join the Roar from the NPL NSW club.<\/p>\n

\u201cSigning for Brisbane Roar is a huge moment for me and my family,\u201d Court said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club\u2019s record of giving young players real opportunities was a big part of my decision, and I can\u2019t wait to get to work and earn my chance in the first team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attacking weapon Court has signed a three-year deal understood to be worth $250,000, a total that could lift to as high as $400,000 depending on bonus payments.<\/p>\n

The deal is likely to make Court the highest earning A-League player under the age of 18.<\/p>\n

Should the Roar eventually decide to sell Court to an overseas club, APIA Leichhardt would receive a percentage of the transfer fee.<\/p>\n
