British rapper Yung Filly will give evidence at a trial where he is facing multiple offences of rape, assault and choking a young woman on his Australian tour almost two years ago.<\/p>\n
The YouTube star \u2013 whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos \u2013 is fighting multiple counts of rape, assault and choking in the Perth District Court where he pleaded not guilty to 10 offences.<\/p>\n
His defence lawyer David Edwardson told the court, Mr Barrientos would give evidence next week along with other witnesses.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Friday, the bar owner of a venue where Yung Filly performed before he allegedly raped a young woman told a court how she repeatedly asked to go into the VIP area to meet the celebrity.<\/p>\n
Bar1 Nightclub owner Malcolm Pages told the court the alleged victim sent several messages to the bar\u2019s Instagram page and repeatedly asked the rapper in person about getting into the VIP area.<\/p>\n
\u201cI said to her, \u2018When we have large artists or celebrities there are rules that need to be followed\u2019 and I would let her know when (she) could go into that area to get a photo or meet the celebrity,\u201d he told the court.<\/p>\n
\u201cI saw her multiples times, as the night went on there would have been another four or five times, she came down asked me how she could get into VIP. <\/p>\n
\u201cMy reply every time was \u2018You have to wait until you are green lit.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cInstead of coming down and asking she sent messages to the Bar1 Instagram page, I could see her name clearly, I have said basically, \u2018No you can wait\u2019 \u2026 it was getting a bit much.\u201d<\/p>\n
The bar owner later saw the young woman talking to the artist inside the VIP area.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt appeared social, there were about 30 or 40 people around,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He told the court there would often be after parties when an artist performed at his bar, but he was not aware of any after-party when Yung Filly played at his venue.<\/p>\n
The woman alleges she left Bar1 in a van with Yung Filly and his entourage and thought she was going to an after-party, but was taken to the Intercontinental Hotel in Perth.<\/p>\n
She claims she went back to the rapper\u2019s hotel room and engaged in consensual sex with him before he allegedly became violent biting, hitting and choking her.<\/p>\n
The prosecution argued in court, seven hours after meeting her celebrity crush the woman left the hotel with bruises and injuries to her face, neck and body inflicted by Yung Filly during the course of non-consensual sex.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe did initially engage in consensual sex but without warning found herself being physically assaulted and engaged in acts she did not want despite telling the accused, \u2018No\u2019,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was consensual until it wasn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n
