{"id":58043,"date":"2026-07-25T02:46:30","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T02:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/58043\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T02:46:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T02:46:30","slug":"abcs-race-around-the-world-airs-graphic-slur-against-gina-rinehart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/58043\/","title":{"rendered":"ABC\u2019s Race Around The World airs graphic slur against Gina Rinehart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A popular ABC program has aired an obscene and graphic slur against Gina Rinehart, with a contestant on the Race Around The World show imagining a \u201cfantasy world\u201d in which the mining billionaire would be violently assaulted in an end-of-world scenario.<\/p>\n<p>In the segment, which went to air on Sunday, contestant Kate McGuinness discusses an imaginary doomsday, and inexplicably fantasises about inflicting torture upon Mrs Rinehart.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause when the revolution comes, will you hide under your bed or will you know exactly how to shove a stick right up Gina Rinehart\u2019s butthole, stirring it round, mixing her guts up nice and smooth, making her into one big sausage roll, to make something outta nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When the segment aired, the panel of four \u201cjudges\u201d appeared to laugh along with the clip. Just one member of the panel, ABC journalist Leigh Sales, took issue with the content.<\/p>\n<p>Sales put it to McGuinness that she had compromised an otherwise interesting video with a \u201cnasty gag about Gina Rinehart\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo what you\u2019re saying is, \u2018we\u2019re all in this together unless you don\u2019t agree with my politics,\u201d Sales said to McGuinness.<\/p>\n<p>McGuinees replied: \u201cUnless you\u2019re Gina Rinehart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/australia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1784947589_941_99630e5132ce2314db8b9bcc7ea3b45f.jpeg\" data-sctrack=\"op-poster-img\" alt=\"Andrew Bolt tears into the ABC\u2019s obscene fantasy of violence against Gina Rinehart\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In a statement to The Australian, an ABC spokesperson acknowledged that all content on the ABC was bound by the organisation\u2019s editorial guidelines, but said the video targeting Mrs Rinehart was \u201csatirical in tone\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRace Around the World features films created by amateur filmmakers, whose contributions reflect their own viewpoints and creative treatments,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile contributors are not ABC journalists, all content broadcast by the ABC is subject to the ABC\u2019s editorial standards, policies, and review processes. In this case, the film was intended to be satirical in tone and considered to be editorially justifiable within the context of the program. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognise that audiences may respond differently to creative content and hold a range of views about how it is presented. One of the judges critiqued the film during their assessment, and that feedback was included in the program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The offensive skit follows public declarations by both ABC chairman Kim Williams, and the broadcaster\u2019s managing director Hugh Marks, that there is no inherent political bias within the ABC.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theaustralian.com.au\/business\/media\/we-are-not-biased-abc-boss-kim-williams\/news-story\/40be749cc85d44bd6cc351f55ff4dd4b\" data-tgev=\"event119\" data-tgev-container=\"bodylink\" data-tgev-order=\"40be749cc85d44bd6cc351f55ff4dd4b\" data-tgev-label=\"business\" data-tgev-metric=\"ev\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mr Williams<\/a> told Sky News Australia: \u201cThe ABC is a national resource.
